MY PRIDE AND JOY
This Rickman Metisse Motocross machine is a rare and exhilarating piece of off-road racing history—made even more exceptional by its heart: a Triumph Bonneville 750cc engine. While most Metisse builds carried the traditional Triumph 500cc twin, this example takes performance to a far more ferocious level, pairing Rickman’s legendary lightweight chassis with the brute torque and surge of Triumph’s larger-capacity powerplant.
The result is a bike that feels every bit the thoroughbred racer the Rickman brothers intended—nimble, beautifully balanced, and astonishingly quick. With the 750cc unit, it delivers explosive acceleration, deep reserves of torque, and a commanding presence on any track or trail.
Rickman Metisse bikes were produced in limited numbers, and surviving examples—especially those upgraded with the larger Triumph engine—are exceptionally hard to find. Enthusiasts prize them for their mix of handcrafted engineering, competition-winning geometry, and unmistakable British character.
Whether admired as a collectible or ridden for the sheer joy of vintage motocross power, this 750cc Metisse stands as a rare and remarkable fusion of Rickman handling and Triumph muscle—an iconic racer with performance that still thrills today.
